Restaurant Chartron

This is a large and welcoming restaurant, much frequented by locals. Bruno Chartron and his wife have run it for over 20 years and it provides really good food at reasonable prices – no wonder it is popular. Following floods in 2008, it was completely re-fitted in 2009. Bruno is a great fan of truffles and even organises special truffle weekends - the truffle menu in February 2008 was one of the best meals I have eaten in France. There is a good wine list with a well thought out selection from all the best local producers. The current sommelier is knowledgeable and helpful and even has a good sense of humour! See also 'Places to stay'.

Useful information: Menus €25 - €82 with his truffle menu at a reasonable €90. Closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Closed first week of January, first week of May, 4th week of August and last two weeks in September.
