Not to be missed by food and wine lovers, Guy Jullien’s cuisine is remarkably fine, specializing in truffles, but also with a very fine range of other dishes, and a wonderful slow-cooked hare dish. A full truffle menu is available in season (from late October through to late March), and Guy also has his own preserved truffles for dishes throughout the year. The wine list is stupendous, whether you want a bottle of 1929 Chave Hermitage, Hermitage La Chapelle back to the 1950s, or a more modest but well chosen current vintage from a local producer. For less knowledgeable clients, or just to discover lesser known wines, you can have absolute confidence in the wine waiter here. There are also three fairly basic bedrooms so you do not have to drive on afterwards. Charming, friendly service. English spoken.
Useful information: Menus €29-€190. Closed September - early October. Rooms €78-€120; breakfast €9.
