Conveniently located for the thermal baths, up above the town centre, this hotel gives a very warm welcome. Its 73 rooms are nicely furnished, with various sizes and categories and the indoorswimming pool/spa area with its pillars and overlooking the lovely garden, makes you really feel like you're in a spa town. The restaurant is accomplished, with the helpful son of the hotel owners looking after the wine list, which includes a very respecatable range of Savoie wines. Ask him about the unusual ones from the vineyards most local to Aix. This certainly would make a good base for a few days.
