Whereas the vineyard areas have very few restaurants worth going to, the area around Lac de Bourget in particular has three well respected, established Michelin-starred restaurants, which serve the business community in Chambéry and surrounding area, as well as the better-heeled tourists. The Bateau Ivre (www.hotel-ombremont.com), the Lamartine (www.lamartine-marin.com) and La Grange à Sel (www.grangeasel.com) could all be listed but as they are all so close to each other and to the first two excellent choices below, I have omitted them for now.
