Events

There are no significant wine festivals in Savoie, though some years certain villages will have a fête du vin. Sometimes there are 'Open House' weekends for participating farms, which will include certain vignerons.

On the other hand, there are regular fêtes throughout the summer in the Alps including cow festivals - check tourist offices for details.

Balade Gourmande

In 2008 the Savoie wine village of Chignin organised its first Balade Gourmand on the last Sunday in July and in 2009 Apremont followed suit. It is not known whether this pleasant family event is going to continue, taking place in a different village each year. The idea is simply a gentle walk (of around 6km) through the vineyard areas with stops on the way to sample enough food and wine to consist of a meal – with a course at each stop.
