Situated just below the famous Chignin towers, this old family domaine is today run quite dynamically by Jean-François Quenard, who has built up the holdings to 15 hectares. A trained oenologist, with experience outside of Savoie (not that common here!), he is prepared to experiment, whilst keeping the focus on getting the best out of his terroir. His most successful wines are the whites, notably three cuvées of Chignin Bergeron, all distinctly different, though his red Mondeuse wines are improving year on year. There are two tasting areas: the original caveau below the family house and a recently built, sweet little vaulted tasting room, ideal for small groups. Jean-François and his wife Catherine also rent out a 2-bedroom gîte with stunning views.
Useful information: Make an appointment to meet Jean-François or for groups (meals possible). Monday to Saturday his mother offers tastings and sales in the original caveau. Jean-François speaks some English.
