Itineraries

Ideal One-Day Itinerary

Stay the night before in Bergerac
MORNING
Take the N21, signposted Agen, south out of Bergerac
Visit 1: Domaine de l’Ancienne Cure
Visit 2: Château Les Tours de Verdots
On to Issigeac for lunch at La Petite Treille (a café in Place du Château serving good value food in a Perigord-meets-Italy style - try tagliatelle au foie gras for just €12)

AFTERNOON
Retrace steps to Monbazillac for visit to the château and tasting of their excellent sweet wine
Visit Monbazillac wine cooperative for a comprehensive tasting of all regional wines
Return to Bergerac.

 

Ideal Two-Day Itinerary

Stay the night before in Bergerac
Day One

MORNING
Leave Bergerac by D933 south to Monbazillac
Visit Monbazillac wine cooperative for a comprehensive tasting of all regional wines
Head to Saussignac
Visit Château Richard
Lunch at Le Relais de Monestier or picnic round nearby.

AFTERNOON
Visit Domaine Mouthes-le-Bihan
Continue on to Duras. Visit the town and château.
Overnight at Hostellerie des Ducs

Day Two

MORNING
Drive east on the D668 to visit the bastide of Eymet.
Head north to Monbazillac. Visit château and picnic lunch in park.

AFTERNOON
Visit 1: Domaine de l’Ancienne Cure
Visit 2: Château Les Tours des Verdots
Return to Bergerac.
