Colette Bourgès, whose chai is in the suburbs of Bergerac, makes both Pécharmant and Rosette, both of which are excellent. The Pécharmant is ultra-traditional in style, though she does age one of her cuvées in wood. Her Rosette is utterly seductive and on no account to be missed.

Useful information: Small groups possible, no charge for tasting, but prior appointment essential. Little or no English spoken but the smiles and laughter make up for that.
