Martine Rougevin-Baville is a top grower in this Fronton town, where the main street is named after the local Négrette grape. Delicious wines (the excellent rosé makes up for the absence of whites) at ridiculously cheap prices. The chai, which opens off the main street is in the shape of a large galleon, and houses a small museum of winemaking implements. Charming welcome with a comprehensive tour available including the vineyards and 18th century underground cellars.
Useful information: Open Tuesday to Saturday 09.00 - 12.00 and 15.00 - 19.00. English spoken, but phone for appointment. Small groups can be accepted with catering available. Note mobile phone number for Martine is 06 16 31 48 69.
