It is not English chauvinism; David and Sarah Meakin are among the best growers in the Coteaux du Quercy, a rising appellation south of Cahors which produces full and fruity wines, mainly from the Cabernet Franc grape. David and Sarah also make other eclectic wines (try their ‘JAS’ from Jurançon Noir, Abouriou and Syrah) and also brew a dark and heady beer.
