Piero Palmucci’s estate and three vineyard sites are in the Castelnuovo dell’Abate area, which is the south-facing side of Montalcino. The drive to the estate is picturesque and so are the magnificent views. Palmucci is a passionate winemaker and enjoys explaining the winemaking process, which reflects his specific non-interventionist philosophy. His aim is to make a wine with authentic terroir character, using naturally selected yeast, a process of gravity and a pristine cellar. He allows his Sangiovese to take its natural course of time to age in different-sized barrels, ultimately showing wonderful depth, aromas and complexity.

Useful information: Open for visits and tastings by appointment only Monday to Friday, 09.00-13.00 and 14.30-18.00. Visits during the weekend can also be organized. The cost of a tasting is €15 and takes 75 minutes. Languages spoken: English, Swedish and most Scandinavian languages.
