Andrea and Paolo Cortonesi’s small 6-ha estate expresses true terroir character. At Uccelliera’s newly built cellar and tasting room you can experience a very personal visit and tasting led by Paolo: with great enthusiasm he will explain all you need to know about Brunello and its ageing capacity, the grape variety and the area of production. Uccelliera’s Brunello di Montalcino is marked by vigorous structure, a ripe, aromatic profile of prunes, tobacco, leather and spice, balanced by acidity; it is full on the palate, with mineral notes, rustic elegance and a long, savoury finish. Paolo Cortonesi also has his own restaurant in Siena, which specialises in traditional local fare; for more information visit

Useful information: Open for visits and tastings by appointment only Monday to Friday, 09.00-13.00 and 14.00-19.00 and at weekends by appointment only. The cost of a tasting is €12 per person. Languages spoken: German, French and English.
