Tom Perry has lived in Spain since 1971 and has worked in the Spanish wine trade since 1975 as export manager of several wineries. From 1994 to November 2008 he was the MD of the Rioja Wine Exporters’ Association, a lobbyist, service provider to member wineries and in charge of international PR for Rioja wines. He has lived in Rioja since 1983. Tom is also a lecturer on strategic marketing, communication, PR and sales, both in Spain and abroad. Another of his projects is a blog, titled ‘Inside Rioja’ (http://insiderioja.wordpress.com) in which he relates his experiences in the Riojan wine trade, interviews winemakers, tastes wine and describes interesting people, places and events in Rioja.
