The building that houses Los Agustinos was originally a convent in 1373, then an army barracks, a military hospital, a jail and, since 1989, a comfortable hotel in the centre of Haro. The 62 rooms are arranged around the central courtyard. If you look closely at the stone pillars you can see prisoners’ names scratched on them. Rooms have free Wi-Fi and there is private parking. One of the best restaurants in Rioja, Las Duelas (see ‘Places to Eat’), is located in the hotel.
Useful information: Double rooms from €89.
