Mesón Chuchi is an institution in Rioja and the place to go for baby lamb roasted in a brick oven, as well as grilled fish and steak. It is a lively place, where you are likely to find winery executives with their customers, and it is usually packed, especially for lunch. Chuchi (the owner’s nickname) owns a well-stocked wine shop adjacent to the restaurant.

Useful information: Starters from €5-€22; main courses €12.50-€28. On weekdays there’s a lunch menu for €20. Closed Wednesday evening and from the third week in August to the second week in September.
