Musée Toulouse-Lautrec

Address: Place Sainte Cécile, 81003 Albi
Tel: 05 63 49 48 70  Fax: 05 63 49 48 88

Geo-coordinates:  Latitude: 43:55:43N (43.92869)     Longitude: 2:8:37E (2.14349)

In the old Bishop’s palace in the centre of the town, adjoining the cathedral, this is an outstanding museum devoted entirely to the works of Toulouse-Lautrec, based on donations by his mother, who survived him. Possibly the greatest one-man show on earth. Enjoy particularly the little-known early oil paintings of his childhood homes, the workers on the estate and his family, as well as the later and better-known posters. The museum has recently been renovated, and there is now much more space and the paintings and posters are beautifully lit and displayed.

Useful information: Closed on Tuesday except from April to September. Entrance fee: €5.50
