Drives and Walks

There are many walks in this area with books and free detailed maps and descriptions available from the tourist office, though descriptions are usually in French only.

Particularly recommended is La Boucle de Chavignol (11km – takes about three hours). This starts and finishes in Verdigny. It heads to Chavignol, then to Amigny returning to Verdigny along the tops of the hills. Detailed PDF documents with a map and description (in French) of this walk and many others can be downloaded from - click on ‘Nature and Leisure’ and then ‘Walks’.

There is also a recommended VTT (mountain bike) route of 31.5km called ‘Vignobles de Sancerre et Bords de Loire' which goes from Saint Satur to Sainte Gemme–en–Sancerrois.
