La Baule and the south Brittany coast

An excursion to the seaside is an easy option, especially out of season, from Nantes. The seaside resort of La Baule is 80km from Nantes.  Take the N165 and N171. The N165 goes to Vannes (115km), Quiberon (158km) and Lorient (170km).

Marais de Goulaine

Circuit around the outside of the Marais (marshes) – see ‘Other attractions’.

Approximate distance: 35km

Lac de Grand-Lieu

There is a circuit around the lake that can be driven, cycled, ridden round on horseback or, for the ambitious, walked (see ‘Other attractions’).
